As promised by the homie VerBs in his "Bananas" FB invite, there were beautiful girls and dudes (I guess), warm vegan food options for people with vegan super powers, hot girls from people's instragrams and tumblrs, some japanese rappers, white people (he wasn't sure if they'd show up), VerBs' friends, me, hot chicks, really cool black people, exactly 12 hot latinas, rapper bros, and fun....no Doja Cat though :(. Still a great night of underground music in a historic area known for hip hop, performance arts and raw Los Angeles culture - Leimert Park, CA.
Beat sets by Linafornia and local beat king Kenny Segal were featured in between live performances from a varied lineup as well as open mic time for those ready to test their skills in front of a PACKED house.
Apollo Soul absolutely made a great impression on the crowd from their opening song to their close-out jam sesh with VerBs adding some freestyle rhymes. Ill Camille had the home crowd on her side and came with the energy that filled the room. Nocando then put on a pretty epic set, his experience at the venue shined as his voice boomed and snarled over the P.A. for a memorable performance. Osaka live was definitely a stand out from his set.
